Luisa Ungar Ronderos, is an interdisciplinary artist and educator from Bogotá, Colombia, who came to Germany as a scholarship holder of the Dorothea Erxleben Program for Artists (with the focus on performance) at the Braunschweig University of Art, where she is now a guest professor for the Class ‘Collaborative Practice’ (Verwaltung der Professur Kollaborative Praxis, at the Institut für performative Praxis, Kunst und Bildung). Following clues from local environments, Luisa explores social contexts and collective memories, questioning the structures that shape our behavior—looking for ways to uncover colonial structures inherent in the way we learn and communicate. With her methodology ‚Rehearsed Spontaneity‘ she dislocates such narratives by using performative tools. Her work has been shown and performed in venues such as Liverpool Biennial, UK; Haus Der Kulturen Der Welt, Berlin; Mercosul Biennial Porto Alegre; Tensta Konsthall, Stockholm; Spring Workshop, Hong Kong; M KHA Museum Antwerp, Bienal Sur, Argentina; MAMM Medellin, Maebashi Arts Center Japan; among others. In 2019, she curated the ‘performance and pedagogy program’ for the 45th SNA of Colombia.
